How to setup virtual fences

Virtual Fences can be easily set up from two different pages within the DocuPet HomeSafe Smart Tracker app - through “Location” and through “Settings”.

Through “Location”, fences can be set up by clicking on “Fences” as shown below.

Through “Settings”, fences can also be set up by clicking on “Fences” as shown below.

Setting up a Virtual Fence

Once you’ve gotten to the “Fences” function within your app, follow these steps to set up your virtual fence.

1. Click on “Add a new fence”.

2. Type in the address of your starting point.

3. You’ll then be led to a map showing your starting point. From here you can choose the shape of your fence - either a circle, square, or octagon.

4. Once you’ve chosen the shape, you can adjust the parameters of your fence by adjusting the shape itself. 

5. You can also adjust the size of the fence by sliding the size up or down OR by using the
   “-” and “+” buttons.

6. Once you are happy with the parameters, click “Continue”.

7. You can now choose a name for your fence. On this page you can also choose the settings of your fence, whether this virtual fence should be used for when a pet is leaving the area, arriving to the area, or both!

8. Click “Save” once you are happy with the fence!

Deleting a Virtual Fence

If you need to delete a virtual fence that you’ve created, go to the “Fences” function within your app and follow the steps below.

1. Click on “Edit” in the top right corner.

2. Click on the red circle beside the fence you’d like to delete.

You’ll then be asked if you’d like to remove the fence, click on “Remove” to confirm!
