How can I extend the battery life of my device?
To get the most out of your pet’s HomeSafe Tracker and ensure it lasts as long as possible between charges, here are some practical tips and settings you can adjust:
1. Set a Lower Update Frequency
One of the easiest ways to extend your HomeSafe Tracker’s battery life is to adjust how often it updates your pet's location. By setting the tracking interval to a longer period, such as 10 or 30 minutes, you can significantly reduce battery consumption. This setting allows the tracker to save energy by updating less frequently. Learn how to adjust the update frequency Here.
2. Use Bluetooth Connectivity
Keeping your smartphone’s Bluetooth turned on can make a big difference! When HomeSafe Tracker is connected via Bluetooth, it uses less battery compared to using the LTE-M network. Bluetooth connection is more efficient for short-range communication and helps conserve the device’s battery life. Find out how Bluetooth impacts battery life Here.
3. Charging
When it’s time to recharge, the HomeSafe Tracker takes up to 3 hours and 30 minutes to go from empty to fully charged. The tracker needs to be recharged approximately twice a month, as it's designed for continuous wear of about 2 weeks between charges.
