How to Increase Location Frequency
The HomeSafe Tracker calculates and sends its location using LTE-M and Bluetooth connectivity, which can be viewed directly in the app. You can choose from three tracking intervals when your dog is on the move: 2 minutes, 10 minutes, and 30 minutes.
To increase the location frequency, follow these steps:
- Open the DocuPet Tracker App.
- Tap the “Settings” menu at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap "Location Frequency."
- Select your desired frequency*:
- Intense: Updates about every 2 minutes
- High: Updates about every 5 minutes
- Standard: Updates about every 10 minutes
*To update the frequency, you must be within Bluetooth range of the tracker.
Please Note: The HomeSafe Tracker will not update its position if it’s not moving, thanks to its built-in artificial intelligence, which helps conserve battery life and gives you several weeks of autonomy. When stationary, your HomeSafe Tracker only sends its position every 2 hours.
The HomeSafe Tracker conserves battery life by:
- Copying the GPS position of your phone when connected via Bluetooth.
- Scanning the surrounding Wi-Fi networks and placing itself in the middle of the closest 3 to 5 networks.
- Calculating its GPS position using GPS satellites.
