There are a few common reasons why your license might have expired, and the good news is, fixing it is super simple! Let’s break it down, step by step:

1. Your License Renewal is Due (It’s That Time of Year!)

Just like your own driver’s license, your pet’s DocuPet license has an expiration date. If you haven’t renewed it before it expires, it’s time to give it a refresh! This is the most common reason for an expired license.

How to fix it:
Hop into your DocuPet account and hit the “License Now” button. You’ll pay the renewal fee, and soon enough, your pet will have a shiny new license tag to show off!

2. Missing Documents 

It’s a bit like when you forget to pack that one last thing for vacation—the paperwork! 🧳 Sometimes your pet’s license might expire because we’re waiting on a few key documents, like:

• • Vaccination records (we need to make sure your pet’s protected and ready to adventure)
  • Spay/neuter certificates (it helps us keep track of your pet’s health status)
  • Other info updates (addresses, phone numbers, you name it!)

When those docs are missing, the system can’t verify everything, and your pet’s license takes a quick nap until we get the paperwork sorted out. 😴📑

3. You Chose a Shorter-Term License (Whoops!)

In some cases, you might’ve selected a shorter-term license instead of a multi-year. No problem, it’s an easy fix.

How to fix it:
Check your pet’s DocuPet profile to see if you’ve got a shorter-term license. If so, renew once the renewal window opens! We will send a reminder when the time is coming!

If you’ve recently moved, or updated other details, your license could have expired or been temporarily deactivated as part of a system update.

How to fix it:

Sometimes life gets in the way, and you might have missed the reminder email DocuPet sends about your upcoming license renewal. It happens—especially when inboxes are full of all those other emails!

How to fix it:
Check your spam or junk folder for any missed renewal reminders. If you can’t find anything, just log in to your account and check your pet’s license status. It’s a quick click to renew!
