What to Do If Your Pet Goes on an Unexpected Adventure! 🐾

Losing a pet is every pet owner’s worst nightmare, but don't panic! If your pet is lost or missing, DocuPet has your back. With just a few clicks, you can file a Lost Pet Report and set the wheels in motion to bring your furry friend home. Ready? Let’s get started!

Step 1: 

Head to "My Pets" 🐕

Log in to your DocuPet account, and at the top of your dashboard, click on "My Pets". This is your pet's personal headquarters, where you can manage all the important details.

 

Step 2: 

Click "Report Pet Lost" 🆘

Under your pet’s profile, you’ll see the option to “Report Pet Lost”. Click that button, and you’ll be well on your way to getting your pet back home safely.

 

Step 3: 

Edit Your Pet’s Info (Optional, but Helpful!) 📝

Here’s where you can update your pet’s details or privacy settings.

• • Edit Privacy Settings: Want to make your contact info or pet’s defining traits visible to a finder? You can do that here!
  • Edit Pet Info: Did your pet’s collar color change, or did you forget to update their breed last time? This is your chance to keep everything up to date. (This step is optional! You can still report your pet lost without editing anything.)

 

Step 4: 

Pinpoint Where Your Pet Was Last Seen 📍

Now, it’s time to mark the spot where your pet was last spotted!

• • Use the map: Simply click on the red pin, drag it to the spot your pet was last seen, and drop it there.
  • Search by address: Or, if you know the exact address, type it in the search bar at the top of the map. Easy, right?

 

Step 5: 

Fill in the Missing Info! 🖋️

Next, fill in all the details:

• • When and where your pet was lost
  • Your contact information (so we can reach you ASAP!)
  • Was your pet wearing their collar or tag?
  • Add any extra details or notes that might help (special markings, favourite toys, etc.).

 

Step 6: 

Want Extra Help from the Lost Pet Brigade? 🚨

Here, you can decide whether to notify your local Lost Pet Brigade and whether you want the report shared on DocuPet’s public Lost Pets page. The more eyes on the case, the better!

 

Step 7: 

A Quick Check 🧐

Before you hit “Submit,” you’ll need to confirm a couple of things:

• • No funny business: You promise you’re not abusing the HomeSafe system and will report when your pet is found.
  • Help us help you: You’re committed to working with DocuPet to get your pet back.

 

Step 8: 

Click “Report Pet Lost” 🚀

Once everything’s filled out and double-checked, click "Report Pet Lost" and let the magic happen. Your Lost Pet Report is now officially submitted!

 

What Happens Next? 🏡

If you chose to notify your Lost Pet Brigade or post the report publicly, you’ll get extra eyes looking for your pet. Plus, your local DocuPet team will send out an email alert and post a notice on your community's homepage to help spread the word!
