How do I update my privacy settings?
Your privacy settings allow you to choose what information (if any) you’d like to share if you file a missing pet report, or if your pet’s tag number is searched on our website. You can update these settings any time through your online account.
Step 1: Log in to your community’s DocuPet website
- In Canada: visit Find Your License Community, enter your postal code, click "Search", then click "Log In" at the top
- In the US: visit Find Your License Community, enter your zip code, click "Search", then click "Log In" at the top
Step 2: Click on “Account” at the top of the page, then click on “Profile Settings”
Step 3: Choose your privacy settings
- Profile Sharing – Enabling this will allow animal shelters who are partnered with the National Animal Shelter Network to view your specified contact information if they believe your pet is in their care.
- Lost Pet Alerts – If a pet is lost, a “Lost Pet Alert” email can be sent to registered users who live in the area of the pet’s last known location. Enable this feature to help lost pets get home safely.
-
Your Pet’s Public Profile – these settings determine what information is made visible and when.
- Everyone: this information can be found by searching a pet’s tag code directly on our website
- Everyone, only when my pet is lost: this information will only be shown if you file a missing pet report through your account (it will not be shown by searching for the pet’s tag code directly on our website)
- No one: your information will never be shown
Your privacy settings will save automatically as you update them.
